Turn ambition into a plan people can act on.

Strategy and action planning that connects your goals with customer needs, business capabilities and the decisions required to move forward.

When you need it

You have an ambition but need to decide where to focus, what to invest in or how to get there. Different stakeholders may have different expectations, or your business may have outgrown its current direction.

What could we work on?

  • Growth priorities and opportunities for a business or team.

  • Product and technology roadmaps, including longer-term investment choices.

  • A new service, proposition or route to market.

  • Customer needs, requirements and the principles that distinguish your offer.

  • An action plan for a change programme or organisational initiative.

How I work

I bring together stakeholder and customer insight, relevant market research and an assessment of your capabilities. We explore the options, examine assumptions and compare what they would require in practice.

I help people define success explicitly. Where useful, we start with what they want to avoid, translate this into the outcome they do want and check that everyone means the same thing. We then work backwards through milestones, identifying the people, resources and support needed.

For product and technology planning, this can include the identity of the range, opportunities for differentiation, development priorities and the capabilities or partners required. We connect the longer-term direction with immediate decisions and ownership.

What you leave with

  • An agreed direction and rationale for the priorities selected.

  • A practical roadmap or action plan with milestones and responsibilities.

  • Visibility of dependencies, resource needs and assumptions to test.

  • A basis for reviewing progress and adapting the plan.

Relevant experience: a longer-term direction for a premium appliance brand

During a ten-week consulting assignment through an ownership transition, I combined customer needs, research and product identity work to develop a product and technology roadmap. The initial five-year horizon developed into a ten-year direction, with engagement at CEO and Board level.

How we can work together

A focused planning assignment, a series of facilitated workshops or ongoing advisory support. If you already have a roadmap and want it assessed first, an independent review may be the right starting point.

Which decisions would help you move forward?
